The PT-508-MM-ST-24 is an IEC 61850-3 compliant managed switch for substations, featuring six copper Fast Ethernet ports and 2 100Base-FX fibre ports with ST connectors. The multi-mode fibre uplinks extend communication up to 4 km.
Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain support redundancy with <20 ms recovery, as well as by RSTP/MSTP. Certification to IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 ensures high EMC immunity and resilience against surges and vibration.
Dual isolated 24 VDC power inputs allow redundant supply resilience. The operating range of -40 to 85°C enables deployment in harsh climates.
The switch includes VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, EtherNet/IP, and Modbus TCP for traffic control. Security functions such as IEEE 802.1X, SSH, HTTPS, RADIUS/TACACS+, and SNMPv3 safeguard critical networks. Management options include web, CLI, Telnet, and ABC-01/02 configurators.
Compact DIN-rail or wall-mounting ensures simple integration. The PT-508-MM-ST-24 provides a rugged and secure solution for extending copper-based networks over ST fibre in substation and industrial automation.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.

Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
