The EDS-505A-T is the wide-temperature variant of the EDS-505A, offering five 10/100 RJ-45 copper ports in a ruggedised form factor. Designed for harsh outdoor and industrial environments, it operates reliably in -40 to 75 °C ambient conditions.
It provides high network availability through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy, achieving recovery times under 20 ms for large-scale networks. In addition, STP/RSTP/MSTP are supported for standards-based redundancy across mixed vendor topologies.
Advanced Layer 2 features include VLAN support, QoS traffic prioritisation, IGMP snooping, multicast filtering, port trunking, and bandwidth management, giving operators control over traffic flows and ensuring deterministic communication. Monitoring and configuration are supported through web interface, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio, with proactive notifications via relay outputs and email alerts.
For secure deployments, the EDS-505A-T includes 802.1X authentication, HTTPS and SSH encryption, TACACS+, and RADIUS integration, protecting the network from unauthorised access. Support for EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET protocols ensures compatibility with diverse automation systems.
The switch is housed in an IP30-rated metal case with DIN-rail or wall mounting options. Certified for railway, traffic, ATEX/Div 2, and maritime standards, it is purpose-built for mission-critical environments.
With long MTBF ratings and a 5-year warranty, the EDS-505A-T delivers secure and resilient Ethernet connectivity in extreme conditions.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
