The EDS-505A-MM-SC is a managed industrial Ethernet switch designed for hybrid copper/fibre networks. It provides three 10/100 RJ-45 ports and two multi-mode SC fibre ports, enabling fibre links up to 4 km, ideal for connecting control cabinets or factory equipment to backbone infrastructure.
The switch ensures high network reliability with Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), complemented by STP, RSTP, and MSTP standards. Advanced Layer 2 management includes VLAN support, QoS prioritisation, IGMP snooping, GMRP multicast control, port trunking, and bandwidth shaping, providing deterministic traffic for SCADA and automation.
Management is available via web GUI, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio, with alerts through relay outputs and email notifications. Security features include 802.1X access control, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+, protecting networks from unauthorised access.
The unit’s IP30 metal enclosure supports DIN-rail or wall mounting. Rated for -10 to 60 °C operation, it is tested against vibration, shock, and freefall per IEC standards, and certified for EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX hazardous areas, and maritime standards.
With MTBF exceeding 1 million hours and covered by a 5-year warranty, the EDS-505A-MM-SC is a dependable choice for mixed copper and fibre networks needing reliable medium-distance connections.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
