The EDS-516A Series delivers reliable, scalable switching for control cabinets and field enclosures that need high-density Fast Ethernet. Every model provides 16 x 10/100BaseT(X) RJ-45 ports, with selected variants adding 2 x 100BaseFX multi-mode fibre (SC or ST) for noise-immune, long-reach links. Resilience is built in: Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain deliver recovery under 20 ms (up to 250 switches), while STP/RSTP/MSTP support standards-based redundancy across mixed-vendor networks.
Deterministic performance comes from IEEE 802.1Q and port-based VLAN, QoS (802.1p/ToS), IGMP snooping/GMRP, bandwidth management, RMON, and port mirroring. OT integration is straightforward using EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET transparency. Configuration is quick via web GUI, CLI, Telnet/serial console, Windows utility and ABC-01 for backup/restore. Proactive maintenance is supported with email/Syslog and a relay alarm output.
The compact IP30 metal enclosure supports DIN-rail or wall mounting. Electrical design includes dual redundant 24 VDC inputs (12–45 VDC operating) with reverse polarity and over-current protection. Standard models operate 0 to +60 °C, and wide-temperature versions cover -40 to +75 °C. Compliance includes EN 61000-6-2/-6-4 EMC, ATEX/Class I Div 2 hazardous locations, DNV-GL marine, and IEC shock/vibration.
With an 8K MAC table, 256 IGMP groups, 2 Mbit packet buffer, and a 5-year warranty, EDS-516A switches provide a robust managed platform for machine cells, conveyor lines, utility assets and traffic controls where uptime and simple fleet management matter.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
