The TN-5518A-8PoE Series is a high-density EN 50155-compliant managed Ethernet switch designed for demanding rolling stock and railway applications. It provides 18x ports in total, with 8x Fast Ethernet PoE M12 ports (30 W/port, 120 W total budget) and 10x additional Fast Ethernet or Gigabit uplink options, including bypass variants.
PoE support simplifies cabling by directly powering onboard devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP phones. Dual 24–110 VDC redundant isolated inputs guarantee continuous power resilience, while the IP54-rated enclosure with M12 connectors ensures vibration-proof performance.
The TN-5518A-8PoE is EN 50155, EN 50121-4, IEC 60571, IEC 61373, and EN 45545-2 certified for railway operation, ensuring full compliance with shock, vibration, EMI, and fire safety requirements. Conformal-coated versions are available for additional PCB protection against humidity and corrosion.
High availability is ensured through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (<20 ms recovery for 250 switches) plus RSTP and MSTP. Cybersecurity is embedded with IEEE 802.1X, TACACS+, RADIUS, HTTPS, SSH, ACLs, and SNMPv3. Traffic management tools include VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, and link aggregation.
With its high port density, integrated PoE, and rugged design, the TN-5518A-8PoE is ideal for large-scale railway networks supporting CCTV, passenger information, PA, and Wi-Fi systems in extreme environments.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
