The EDS-505A is a compact 5-port managed industrial Ethernet switch designed for reliable copper-based networking in control cabinets and distributed automation systems. With five 10/100 RJ-45 ports, it provides a straightforward solution for connecting multiple field devices while ensuring network resilience and security.
Featuring Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), the switch minimises downtime across mission-critical networks. It also supports STP, RSTP, and MSTP for compatibility with standard redundancy protocols.
Traffic management functions include VLAN segmentation, QoS prioritisation, IGMP snooping, GMRP multicast filtering, port trunking, and bandwidth control, ensuring stable performance for SCADA and industrial Ethernet traffic. Operators can manage and monitor the switch via web GUI, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio, with additional alerts through relay outputs and email notifications.
Security is reinforced with 802.1X authentication, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+, protecting against unauthorised access. The switch also supports EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and transparent PROFINET, simplifying integration with industrial control systems.
Built into a rugged IP30-rated metal enclosure, the EDS-505A supports DIN-rail or wall mounting and operates from -10 to 60 °C. Certified for railway EMC (EN 50121-4), NEMA TS2 traffic control, and ATEX/Div 2 hazardous environments, it is suited for regulated industrial sectors.
With MTBF reliability over 1 million hours and backed by a 5-year warranty, the EDS-505A delivers dependable managed Ethernet in compact form.
