The IKS-6728A Series is Moxa’s flagship modular, rackmount, managed Ethernet platform for mission-critical industrial and transportation networks. Each switch delivers up to 24 Fast Ethernet access ports plus 4 Gigabit combo uplinks (RJ45/SFP) for high-bandwidth aggregation, with two front module bays that accept IM-6700A media modules. Build the exact port mix you need—copper, multi-mode or single-mode fibre (SC/ST), SFP, or PoE/PoE+—and scale later without taking the network offline. The IKS-6728A-8PoE models add eight built-in PoE+ ports (IEEE 802.3af/at) with up to 36 W/port for power-hungry outdoor cameras, wireless backhaul, or rugged VoIP phones.
High availability comes standard. Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain deliver sub-20 ms recovery on FE rings (and <50 ms at Gigabit), while STP/RSTP/MSTP ensure multivendor interoperability. V-ON minimises multicast recovery times for both video and control. Security is defence-in-depth, IEEE 802.1X, RADIUS/TACACS+, HTTPS/SSH, SNMPv3, sticky MAC/Port Lock, MAC ACL, MAB, and storm control. Engineers get complete L2 manageability—VLAN (802.1Q/GVRP), quality of service (802.1p/ToS), IGMP snooping/GMRP, LACP trunking, bandwidth management, RMON, LLDP—and powerful PoE tools (scheduling, PD auto-check, diagnostics) on PoE SKUs.
Designed for harsh sites, the fanless IP30 chassis operates from -40 to 75 °C and supports AC or DC power (model dependent), redundant inputs, reverse-polarity/overload protection, and an alarm relay. Configuration is simple via web/CLI/USB console, Windows utility, or ABC-02-USB for hands-free backup and swap-outs. With wide EMC/rail/maritime approvals, the IKS-6728A excels in highways/rail wayside, substations, oil & gas, cities, and heavy industry.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
