The Moxa NPort 6400-G2 Series is a second generation, 4 port secure serial device server range designed to bring legacy RS-232/422/485 equipment safely onto modern industrial networks. It is built for environments where cybersecurity, uptime, and long term maintainability matter just as much as connectivity. The platform supports encrypted serial data transmission using TLS and SSH, helping protect communications whether traffic stays inside a private OT network or needs to traverse wider infrastructure.
Security is engineered in at multiple levels. Secure Boot is used to help ensure only authorised firmware can run on the device, and the series supports modern certificate and crypto options including RSA and ECC based certificate signing. For compliance driven projects, the NPort 6400-G2 Series is IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 certified, making it a strong fit for industrial automation, utilities, traffic systems, and critical infrastructure deployments where security policies are mandated.
From an integration point of view, the NPort 6400-G2 provides four DB9 serial ports with support for RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485, and a wide baud rate range up to 921.6 kbps (including non-standard baud rates). For RS-485 commissioning, installers benefit from software configurable termination and pull high/low resistors, making it easier to stabilise line performance without repeated site visits.
Moxa has also focused on reducing support time. One click log collection and application analysis helps system integrators validate communications during deployment and speeds up troubleshooting during maintenance. With flexible mounting options (desktop, wall, DIN rail with kit), robust metal housing, and models available for standard or wide temperature operation, the NPort 6400-G2 Series is an ideal choice for securely modernising serial assets without replacing field devices.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
