The Moxa DA-820E-C5-L-T is a rugged 48V DC industrial computer designed for users that need more processing capability for modern automation and edge workloads without sacrificing environmental resilience. It combines an Intel Core i5-1340PE processor with 1x DA-PWR-120-LV hot-swappable low-voltage power module, making it well suited to industrial networking, power monitoring, substation communications, protocol gateway roles, rail system integration, and virtualised OT services. For installations based on 48V DC infrastructure, it provides an excellent balance of performance, flexibility, and maintainability.
Its hardware design supports a broad range of industrial application requirements. Users get 4x hot-swappable SSD bays, an M.2 storage slot, up to 64 GB DDR4, 4x Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2x RS-232/422/485 serial ports, 6xdigital inputs, 2x digital outputs, and PCIe expansion slots. This gives the DA-820E-C5-L-T the flexibility to function as a central node for data collection, communications handling, and industrial control in one rackmount system. Security features such as TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot help support secure deployment in OT environments, while the fanless 3U chassis, IP30 metal enclosure, and -40 to 70°C operating range make it suitable for harsh control rooms and field cabinets. It is also backed by certifications including IEC 61850-3, IEEE 1613, IEC 60255, EN 50121-4, IEC 62368-1, and UL 62368-1, helping simplify deployment in regulated utility and transport applications.
