The EDS-505A Series comprises compact 5-port managed Ethernet switches engineered for resilient industrial networks. Available in all-copper and mixed copper/fibre variants (multi-mode SC/ST or single-mode SC), the range gives you flexible topologies for field device access and fibre uplinks across plants, transport systems and utilities.
To maximise uptime, the series supports Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy with recovery under 20 ms (up to 250 switches), alongside STP/RSTP/MSTP and LACP for standards-based designs. Traffic control features include IEEE 802.1Q/port-based VLAN, QoS (802.1p/1Q, ToS/DiffServ), IGMP snooping/GMRP, port trunking, bandwidth management, RMON, and LLDP, giving deterministic performance for SCADA and automation flows.
Security is strengthened with IEEE 802.1X, HTTPS/SSH, RADIUS, TACACS+, port lock, and broadcast storm protection. Device visibility and integration are straightforward with SNMPv1/v2c/v3, MXstudio support, and industrial protocols EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and transparent PROFINET. Configuration is simple via web GUI, CLI, Telnet/serial console, and the ABC-01 auto-backup module.
Rugged IP30 metal housings support DIN-rail or wall mounting, with models for -10 to +60°C or wide -40 to +75°C operation. Electrical design includes dual 12/24/48 VDC inputs (9.6–60 VDC range), plus reverse polarity and over-current protection. Approvals cover UL 508, EN 60950/62368, EN 50121-4 (railway EMC), NEMA TS2 (traffic), ATEX/Div 2 hazardous locations, and more.
With 8K MAC table, 256 IGMP groups, 1 Mbit packet buffer and 4 priority queues, the EDS-505A Series delivers reliable, secure, and easy-to-manage switching for space-constrained control cabinets.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
