The EDS-508A-MM-SC-T is a wide-temperature managed Ethernet switch with a hybrid copper/fibre design. Featuring six 10/100 RJ-45 ports and two multi-mode SC fibre ports, it supports distances up to 4 km and is ideal for field-to-backbone connections in rail, energy, and transport networks.
Designed for resilience, the switch supports Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (<20 ms recovery) as well as RSTP/STP/MSTP for redundancy. Advanced traffic control includes VLAN, QoS prioritisation, IGMP snooping, port trunking, bandwidth shaping, and RMON monitoring, ensuring deterministic communication for SCADA and automation.
Management is accessible via web interface, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with relay alarm outputs and email alerts for event notification. Security is reinforced with 802.1X authentication, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+.
The IP30 metal housing supports DIN-rail or wall mounting, and the unit is certified for -40 to 75 °C operation. Compliance includes EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX hazardous zones, and maritime standards (DNV, LR, ABS), making it suitable for the harshest industrial environments.
Backed by a 5-year warranty and MTBF exceeding 1 million hours, the EDS-508A-MM-SC-T delivers reliable hybrid copper/fibre Ethernet in extreme conditions.
