The EDS-508A-SS-SC-80-T is the wide-temperature model of the ultra-long fibre variant, featuring six 10/100 RJ-45 ports and two single-mode SC fibre uplinks with ranges up to 80 km. It is designed for challenging industrial applications requiring reliable connectivity over very long distances.
Resilient operation is delivered through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (<20 ms recovery) along with RSTP/STP/MSTP redundancy. Advanced Layer 2 functions such as VLAN, QoS, IGMP snooping, GMRP, port trunking, bandwidth control, and RMON enable deterministic performance for SCADA and real-time industrial traffic.
The switch supports management via web interface, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with relay alarms and email alerts for real-time event handling. Enhanced security includes 802.1X authentication, HTTPS/SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+.
Built into a rugged IP30 housing, the switch supports DIN-rail and wall mounting. With an operating temperature of -40 to 75 °C, it is certified for EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX/IECEx hazardous areas, and maritime (DNV, LR, ABS), ensuring reliable deployment in extreme conditions.
With MTBF over 1 million hours and backed by a 5-year warranty, the EDS-508A-SS-SC-80-T provides robust managed Ethernet for mission-critical networks needing long-distance single-mode fibre at wide temperature ranges.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
