The EDS-508A-T is the wide-temperature model of the EDS-508A, offering eight 10/100 RJ-45 copper ports with advanced managed features for mission-critical industrial networks. Designed for harsh outdoor or transport environments, it ensures stable performance across a wide -40 to 75 °C range.
Featuring Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), the switch provides high availability for intelligent transport systems, substation automation, and railway signalling. It also supports RSTP/STP/MSTP for interoperability with other vendors’ equipment.
Network optimisation is delivered via VLAN segmentation, quality of service prioritisation, IGMP snooping/GMRP multicast control, port trunking, and bandwidth shaping. Operators can monitor and configure via web GUI, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with relay contacts and email alerts providing proactive fault reporting.
The switch enhances network protection with IEEE 802.1X authentication, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+, while supporting industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET.
Encased in a durable IP30-rated metal enclosure, the EDS-508A-T supports DIN-rail and wall mounting. Certified to EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX hazardous areas, and maritime (DNV, LR, ABS), it is engineered for deployment in the most demanding conditions.
With MTBF reliability above 1 million hours and a 5-year warranty, the EDS-508A-T delivers long-term copper-based Ethernet connectivity for industrial networks operating in extreme temperatures.
