The EDS-508A-MM-ST-T is a wide-temperature managed Ethernet switch with six 10/100 RJ-45 copper ports and two multi-mode ST fibre ports. It extends fibre runs up to 4 km, making it an excellent choice for networks that combine copper access with legacy ST fibre infrastructure.
Designed for reliability, the switch supports Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery) and industry-standard RSTP/STP/MSTP protocols. Traffic optimisation features include VLAN segmentation, QoS prioritisation, IGMP snooping/GMRP multicast management, port trunking, bandwidth shaping, and RMON monitoring, ensuring deterministic communication for SCADA and automation systems.
Operators can configure and monitor the switch via web interface, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with real-time event alerts available through relay contacts and email notifications. Network security is strengthened with IEEE 802.1X authentication, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+.
Housed in a rugged IP30-rated metal enclosure, the unit supports DIN-rail or wall mounting. It is rated for -40 to 75 °C operation, ensuring stable performance in outdoor enclosures, roadside cabinets, or rail-side installations. Certifications include EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX hazardous locations, and maritime (DNV, ABS, LR).
With MTBF reliability over 1 million hours and a 5-year warranty, the EDS-508A-MM-ST-T delivers robust copper/fibre networking with legacy ST support in extreme industrial environments.
