The EDS-508A-SS-SC-T is the wide-temperature variant of the SS-SC model, offering six 10/100 RJ-45 copper ports and two single-mode SC fibre uplinks supporting distances up to 40 km. Designed for long-haul industrial networks, it is suitable for power utilities, rail systems, and transport infrastructure.
It incorporates Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery) and RSTP/STP/MSTP support for high network availability. Traffic control is enabled through VLAN segmentation, QoS prioritisation, IGMP snooping, port trunking, bandwidth shaping, and RMON monitoring, optimising performance for industrial Ethernet applications.
The switch can be configured and monitored through web GUI, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with relay alarms and email alerts for proactive fault detection. Security features include 802.1X authentication, HTTPS/SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+, ensuring robust network protection.
Encased in a rugged IP30 metal enclosure, the EDS-508A-SS-SC-T supports DIN-rail and wall mounting. It operates from -40 to 75 °C, making it suitable for harsh outdoor and rail environments. Certification includes EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX hazardous areas, and maritime approvals (DNV, ABS, LR).
With MTBF exceeding 1 million hours and a 5-year warranty, the EDS-508A-SS-SC-T is a dependable managed switch for wide-temperature single-mode fibre deployments.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
