he Moxa EDS-518E-MM-ST-4GTXSFP is a managed industrial Ethernet switch engineered for robust networking in industrial automation, transport, and energy systems. It features 12 Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports, 2 multi-mode ST fiber ports, and 4 combo Gigabit RJ45/SFP slots, combining copper and fiber connectivity to support both local device networking and long-distance backbone links.
Redundancy is ensured with Moxa’s Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain technologies, delivering sub-20 ms recovery, alongside RSTP and MSTP for open standard failover. Fiber Check™ diagnostics provide continuous monitoring of optical signal health, allowing operators to detect link degradation early. V-ON™ technology accelerates multicast recovery to millisecond levels, supporting real-time data and video applications such as surveillance and SCADA monitoring.
Cybersecurity is comprehensive, including IEEE 802.1X, SNMPv3, TACACS+, RADIUS, HTTPS, SSH, sticky MAC, and MAC ACL features to protect against unauthorized access. VLAN, QoS, bandwidth management, and port mirroring help engineers maintain predictable traffic flows while simplifying troubleshooting. Support for EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET ensures smooth integration into industrial ecosystems.
The EDS-518E-MM-ST-4GTXSFP is housed in a rugged IP30-rated enclosure with redundant 12/24/48 VDC power inputs. It operates in -10 to 60 °C, ideal for sheltered but demanding sites such as factory automation cabinets, marine engine rooms, or roadside control stations. Its DIN-rail mount design simplifies installation, and ABC-02-USB tools streamline configuration backup and firmware updates.
This model is particularly suited for industrial networks requiring robust fibre ST interfaces, long-distance resilience, and strong redundancy in compact form factors.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
