The EDS-518E-MM-ST-4GTXSFP-T is a wide-temperature version of Moxa’s ST-fiber managed switch, designed for deployment in environments with extremes ranging from -40 to 75 °C. It offers 12 Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports, 2 multi-mode ST fiber ports, and 4 combo Gigabit RJ45/SFP slots, ensuring flexible copper-fiber networking for mixed infrastructure environments.
Reliability is maximised through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy technologies, guaranteeing network recovery in under 20 ms, supported by RSTP/MSTP for standards-based failover. Fiber Check provides diagnostic feedback on fibre link health, while V-ON supports ultra-fast multicast recovery. Together, these features make the switch an ideal backbone device for surveillance systems, intelligent transportation, power grid control, and mission-critical automation.
Advanced security features include IEEE 802.1X authentication, TACACS+, RADIUS, HTTPS, SSH, SNMPv3, sticky MAC, and MAC ACL safeguards. Engineers can also apply VLAN segmentation, QoS traffic shaping, and bandwidth management to keep communication deterministic and secure. With support for EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET, integration with automation controllers and SCADA systems is seamless.
The hardened aluminium housing is IP30-rated, shock and vibration tested, and equipped with dual DC power inputs for reliability in the field. Its wide operating temperature makes it suitable for roadside cabinets, desert oil pumping stations, and rail trackside controllers exposed to fluctuating weather. DIN-rail installation and USB configuration tools simplify deployment and maintenance.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.

The requirement of the project was to provide an interoperability between tactical radios in a military environment previously not achievable due to limitations of hardware and budget constraints.
