The Moxa EDS-518E-SS-SC-4GTXSFP is a managed industrial Ethernet switch designed for reliable backbone networking in harsh industrial environments. It provides 12 Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports, 2 single-mode SC fiber ports, and 4 combo Gigabit RJ45/SFP slots, delivering flexible copper and fiber connectivity that supports both local device access and long-haul communications.
Engineered for mission-critical applications, the switch integrates Moxa’s Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain technologies, achieving recovery times of under 20 ms, with support for RSTP and MSTP for standards-based resilience. The inclusion of Fiber Check offers proactive monitoring of fiber health, while V-ON ensures millisecond-level multicast recovery, ideal for video, SCADA, and real-time automation traffic.
Industrial-grade security features include IEEE 802.1X authentication, TACACS+, RADIUS, SNMPv3, HTTPS, SSH, sticky MAC, and MAC ACL filtering. Network segmentation and predictability are enhanced by VLAN tagging, QoS traffic prioritisation, bandwidth control, and port mirroring. Compatibility with EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET simplifies integration with PLCs, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
Built in a robust IP30-rated housing, the EDS-518E-SS-SC-4GTXSFP supports redundant 12/24/48 VDC power inputs for field reliability. It operates reliably between -10 and 60 °C, making it suitable for factory control cabinets, oil and gas facilities, and marine control rooms. DIN-rail installation and ABC-02-USB configurator compatibility further streamline setup and maintenance.
This switch is best suited for applications requiring high-reliability single-mode fiber connectivity over extended distances, combined with Gigabit uplinks and industrial-grade security in compact industrial deployments.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
