The EDS-4012 Series delivers compact, Layer 2 switching for control cabinets and edge backbones, combining eight 10/100Base-T(X) access ports with four 1-gigabit uplinks. Choose 4 x SFP (EDS-4012-4GS) for fibre flexibility or 4 x combo (EDS-4012-4GC) to mix copper and SFP per port. For powered devices, EDS-4012-8P-4GS models add eight IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE ports delivering up to 90 W per port, ideal for multi-sensor cameras, wireless APs and edge computers.
High availability is built-in. Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain provide sub-20 ms recovery across 250 switches (< 50 ms with 1G links), with RSTP/MSTP, MRP and LACP adding standards-based redundancy and aggregation. Management is streamlined via MXstudio, plus a full toolkit: SNMPv1/v2c/v3, LLDP, RMON, syslog, SPAN/RSPAN, fibre check, DHCP server/client and port security. OT integration includes EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and PROFINET Device, while hardware-based IEEE 1588v2 PTP supports utility and substation time profiles.
Cyber security aligns with IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2, featuring HTTPS/SSH, 802.1X, ACLs, DHCP snooping, storm control, MAC protections and strong login policies. Switch resources include a 16K MAC table, 1 MB packet buffer, 9,216-byte jumbo frames, 4 QoS queues, 256 VLANs and IGMP snooping/querier.
Power options match your site: LV models offer dual 12/24/48 VDC inputs; HV models accept single 110/220 VDC/VAC; PoE SKUs are available as LVA (48 VDC) or LVB (12/24/48 VDC) with generous PoE budgets. The IP40 metal enclosure (55 × 140 × 120 mm) supports DIN-rail or wall mounting. Standard units operate -10 to 60°C; -T variants operate -40 to 75°C. Certifications include EN 50121-4, IEC 61850-3/IEEE 1613, maritime approvals (selected models) and hazardous-location ratings on LV/PoE variants.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
