The EDS-508A is a managed industrial Ethernet switch with eight 10/100BaseT(X) RJ-45 ports, designed for cost-effective yet resilient copper-based networks. Its compact footprint and robust feature set make it a strong choice for factory automation, transport systems, and power distribution networks.
With Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy, the switch achieves recovery times of less than 20 ms for up to 250 switches, ensuring uninterrupted communications in mission-critical environments. Standards-based STP/RSTP/MSTP are also supported for interoperability.
Traffic management features include IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, port-based VLAN, QoS, IGMP snooping/GMRP multicast control, and bandwidth management, enabling deterministic performance for SCADA and automation traffic. Operators can manage the switch via web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio, while relay and email alerts provide proactive fault notifications.
Security is reinforced with IEEE 802.1X authentication, HTTPS/SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+, ensuring protection against unauthorised access. Industrial protocol support includes EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET, ensuring seamless integration into control systems.
Housed in a rugged IP30 metal enclosure, the switch supports DIN-rail or wall mounting, with an operating temperature range of -10 to 60 °C. Certified to UL 508, EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX/IECEx hazardous areas, and maritime DNV/LR/ABS approvals, the EDS-508A is ready for diverse industrial environments.
Backed by a 5-year warranty and MTBF over 1 million hours, the EDS-508A ensures reliable managed Ethernet connectivity for long-term industrial deployments.
