The EDS-408A-MM-ST is a managed Ethernet switch with a copper/fibre mix that includes six 10/100 RJ-45 ports and two multi-mode ST fibre ports, supporting distances up to 4 km. This configuration is suited for medium-distance industrial backbones where legacy ST fibre connections are required.
High availability is achieved with Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), along with RSTP/STP support for standards-based networks. Advanced features, including VLAN segmentation, QoS traffic shaping, IGMP snooping, bandwidth control, and RMON monitoring, enhance performance for automation and SCADA systems.
Operators can configure and monitor the switch through a web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio integration, with relay and email alerts available for event notification.
The IP30 metal enclosure is compact for DIN-rail or wall-mount installation. With operation at -10 to 60 °C, the switch is tested to IEC standards for shock, vibration, and freefall, and certified to EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX/IECEx hazardous areas, and maritime approvals (DNV, LR, ABS).
Backed by a 5-year warranty and high MTBF reliability, the EDS-408A-MM-ST is a practical managed switch for industrial sites requiring copper access with ST fibre uplinks.
