The EDS-408A-3S-SC-T is a wide-temperature managed Ethernet switch designed for applications requiring long-distance single-mode fibre uplinks. It features five 10/100 RJ-45 ports and three single-mode SC fibre ports, extending connectivity up to 40 km. This makes it well-suited for utility substations, traffic management, and railway backbones.
The switch integrates Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), plus RSTP/STP support, ensuring high availability for mission-critical industrial networks. Operators can manage multicast and prioritised traffic with IGMP snooping, VLAN (802.1Q and port-based), QoS, RMON, and bandwidth management.
Remote management is supported via web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with event notifications through relay alarm output or email alerts.
Housed in a rugged IP30-rated metal case, the switch supports DIN-rail and wall mounting. Designed for -40 to 75 °C operation, it is tested to IEC vibration, shock, and freefall standards. Certified for EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX hazardous areas, and maritime approvals, it is ready for harsh environments.
With robust MTBF reliability and a 5-year warranty, the EDS-408A-3S-SC-T provides dependable long-haul fibre connectivity in extreme temperature deployments.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
