The EDS-408A-T extends the standard EDS-408A with broad temperature capability, making it ideal for deployment in outdoor cabinets, roadside infrastructure, and extreme industrial conditions. It provides eight 10/100BaseT(X) RJ-45 ports, supporting auto-negotiation, full/half-duplex, and Auto MDI/MDI-X for flexible cabling.
With Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy, recovery times are less than 20 ms for up to 250 switches, delivering continuous operation for mission-critical networks such as intelligent transport systems, rail signalling, and power utilities. The switch also supports RSTP/STP for standard interoperability.
Advanced features include VLAN (802.1Q and port-based), quality of service prioritisation, IGMP snooping, and bandwidth control, ensuring deterministic performance for automation protocols and SCADA traffic. Operators can manage the switch via web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with alarm relay output and email notifications available for event reporting.
Housed in an IP30-rated metal enclosure with DIN-rail or optional wall mounting, the EDS-408A-T is tested to -40 to 75 °C operation and certified for EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX hazardous locations, and maritime standards (DNV, ABS, LR).
Offering a 5-year warranty and a proven MTBF rating above 1.3 million hours, the EDS-408A-T is a reliable choice for industrial networks exposed to wide temperature extremes and demanding conditions.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
