The EDS-408A-3M-ST is a managed Ethernet switch offering a balance of copper and fibre connectivity for industrial networks. It includes five 10/100 RJ-45 ports and three multi-mode ST fibre ports, extending communication up to 4 km over fibre. This makes it an effective option for connecting distributed control cabinets or linking remote automation equipment.
With Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), as well as RSTP/STP support, the switch ensures reliable operation in mission-critical deployments. Advanced features include VLAN segmentation, IGMP snooping for multicast traffic, quality of service prioritisation, RMON, and bandwidth management, providing operators with control over network performance.
The EDS-408A-3M-ST is simple to deploy and manage via web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio software, with relay alarms and email notifications available for real-time alerts.
The rugged IP30 metal housing supports DIN-rail or wall mounting. With a -10 to 60 °C operating range, it is tested to IEC vibration, shock, and free-fall standards, and certified to EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX hazardous areas, and maritime DNV/LR/ABS approvals.
Offering long MTBF reliability and backed by a 5-year warranty, the EDS-408A-3M-ST is a cost-effective managed fibre/copper switch for applications such as power substations, industrial plants, and transport networks.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
