The EDS-408A-2M1S-SC-T is a wide-temperature managed switch offering a blend of copper and fibre connectivity for industrial networks. It features five 10/100 RJ-45 ports, two multi-mode SC fibre uplinks (up to 4 km), and one single-mode SC fibre uplink (up to 40 km), providing flexible access and backbone options.
Equipped with Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), the switch ensures uninterrupted service in railway systems, intelligent transport networks, and substation automation. It also supports RSTP/STP protocols for interoperability with other vendors’ redundancy systems.
Traffic is efficiently managed through IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, port-based VLAN, quality of service prioritisation, IGMP snooping, bandwidth management, and RMON monitoring. Operators can configure and monitor via web interface, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio, with alarms triggered by relay or email.
Housed in a durable IP30-rated enclosure, the EDS-408A-2M1S-SC-T is designed for DIN-rail or wall mounting. Its -40 to 75 °C operating range makes it suitable for harsh outdoor environments, such as cabinets, rolling stock, and the process industry. Certifications include EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX hazardous area, and maritime approvals (DNV, LR, ABS).
With a 5-year warranty and long MTBF reliability, the EDS-408A-2M1S-SC-T offers a robust, flexible fibre/copper platform for mission-critical networks operating in extreme conditions.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
