The EDS-408A-SS-SC is a managed industrial Ethernet switch designed for applications that require long-distance single-mode fibre connectivity. It offers six 10/100 RJ-45 copper ports and two single-mode SC fibre ports, supporting links up to 40 km, ideal for connecting control rooms, substations, or rail systems spread across large areas.
The switch delivers high availability with Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery) and supports RSTP/STP protocols for standards-based failover. Its traffic management features include VLAN segmentation, QoS prioritisation, IGMP snooping, bandwidth control, and RMON monitoring, providing robust multicast handling and deterministic communication for automation and SCADA networks.
Flexible configuration is possible via web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio integration, while relay alarms and email notifications provide real-time event reporting for proactive maintenance.
Built into a rugged IP30-rated enclosure, the unit supports DIN-rail or wall mounting and is tested against IEC shock, vibration, and freefall standards. With a -10 to 60 °C operating range and certifications including EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX/IECEx hazardous zones, and maritime approvals (DNV, LR, ABS), it is suitable for critical infrastructure applications.
Backed by a 5-year warranty and high MTBF reliability, the EDS-408A-SS-SC offers dependable managed Ethernet switching for long-haul fibre networks.
