The EDS-408A-MM-SC is a managed industrial Ethernet switch that blends copper and fibre for flexible network deployment. It provides six 10/100 RJ-45 ports and two multi-mode SC fibre ports, extending communication distances up to 4 km. This design is well-suited for connecting local devices to a fibre backbone in factories, utilities, and transport systems.
Network redundancy is ensured through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain technologies, achieving recovery times under 20 ms for resilient operation. The switch also supports RSTP/STP protocols for interoperability with third-party equipment.
Traffic management features include VLAN segmentation, QoS prioritisation, IGMP snooping, bandwidth control, and RMON monitoring, enabling deterministic communication for automation and SCADA systems. Management access is available via web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio, while alarms can be triggered through relay outputs and email notifications.
The rugged IP30-rated housing supports DIN-rail or wall mounting, with reliable operation across a -10 to 60 °C temperature range. Certified to EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic control, ATEX hazardous locations, and maritime standards (DNV, LR, ABS), the EDS-408A-MM-SC is suitable for diverse industrial applications.
With high MTBF reliability and a 5-year warranty, the EDS-408A-MM-SC is a dependable managed switch for hybrid copper/fibre industrial networks.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
