NPort IA5000-G2 is a family of DIN-rail serial device servers built for industrial automation, available in 1, 2 and 4-port models with software-selectable RS-232/422/485. Two 10/100Base-T(X) RJ45 ports allow cascade wiring or redundant/dual-IP designs, cutting switch count and simplifying panels. Selected models add optical uplinks—100BaseFX (multi-mode or single-mode, SC/ST) and 100 Mb SFP—for long-distance, noise-immune links in harsh plants.
Set-up is fast: classic Real COM can be configured in about 30 seconds with DSU-G2, while a full suite of operation modes—Real COM, TCP Server/Client, UDP, Pair Connection, Terminal and Reverse Terminal—also comes in secure variants. Built-in one-click diagnostics and embedded traffic monitoring accelerate troubleshooting and give engineers deep visibility during commissioning and maintenance.
Designed for resilience, the series integrates surge protection across serial, Ethernet and power lines (tested to IEC 61000-4-5), plus a relay output and optional email alerts to flag link, power or signal events so teams can respond quickly. Wide-temperature models operate from -40 to +75°C, and “I” variants provide 2 kV serial isolation to combat ground loops and electrical noise. Security features include secure boot, TRNG, HTTPS/TLS 1.2, SSHv2 and SNMPv3, with granular crypto options. Industry approvals include IP30 enclosure and safety certifications, with C1D2/ATEX Zone 2/IECEx models noted in the range. Power is via dual 12–48 VDC inputs on a locking terminal block for redundancy.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.

WMG, University of Warwick’s Intelligent Vehicles research group works with a variety of industrial partners to address challenges presented by the concept of autonomous vehicles. Operating within this department is a multi-million pound funded project ‘Cloud assisted real time methods for autonomy’ (CARMA), working in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover and EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council).
