The NPort IA5450-G2 is a high-density 4-port DIN-rail serial device server designed to connect multiple industrial automation devices to an Ethernet network. It’s an efficient solution for modernising control cabinets, allowing you to connect up to four PLCs, meters, or barcode readers with RS-232/422/485 interfaces to your TCP/IP network.
Its dual 10/100Base-T(X) RJ45 Ethernet ports operate as an Ethernet switch. This allows you to daisy-chain the server to other Ethernet devices, which simplifies wiring, saves cabinet space, and reduces the need for separate switches. The ports can also be configured with dual IP addresses for network redundancy.
Setup is swift; the DSU-G2 utility can configure Real COM mode settings in just 30 seconds. Beyond Real COM, the server supports a full range of secure operation modes, including Secure TCP Server, Secure TCP Client, and Reverse SSH, all protected with data encryption. It also supports high-precision nonstandard baud rates up to 921.6 kbps.
Engineered for industrial resilience, the IA5450-G2 features a rugged IP30 metal housing, 12-48 VDC power inputs, and comprehensive surge protection for its serial, Ethernet, and power lines. For troubleshooting, it offers one-click log collection and embedded traffic monitoring. Proactive alerts can be sent via a built-in relay output or email for power failure or link changes.
This standard model features four software-selectable RS-232/422/485 DB9 ports and is rated for a -10 to 60°C operating temperature.
