The EDS-508A Series is a family of 8-port managed industrial Ethernet switches designed for reliable networking in harsh environments. Offering a range of copper-only models as well as versions with multi-mode or single-mode fibre SC/ST uplinks (up to 80 km), the series is tailored for industrial automation, transport, utilities, and oil & gas deployments.
With Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery for up to 250 switches), as well as STP/RSTP/MSTP, the EDS-508A ensures maximum network uptime. Advanced Layer 2 features include VLAN segmentation, quality of service prioritisation, IGMP snooping/GMRP multicast filtering, port trunking, and bandwidth control. Operators can monitor networks with RMON, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, and manage via web GUI, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or MXstudio.
Security is enhanced through IEEE 802.1X authentication, HTTPS/SSH, RADIUS, and TACACS+, while support for EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET enables easy integration with industrial control systems. Event alarms are delivered via relay outputs and email notifications, ensuring quick fault detection.
The rugged IP30-rated metal housing supports DIN-rail and wall mounting. Models are available in both standard (-10 to 60 °C) and wide-temperature (-40 to 75 °C) variants, certified to UL 508, EN 50121-4 railway, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX hazardous zones, and maritime (DNV, LR, ABS) standards.
With MTBF exceeding 1 million hours and backed by a 5-year warranty, the EDS-508A Series delivers robust, secure, and flexible managed Ethernet connectivity for industrial applications worldwide.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
