The NPort 5610-8-DT-G2 is an 8-port RS-232 serial device server designed to connect multiple serial devices to an Ethernet network through a compact desktop platform. It is a strong choice for applications that rely on RS-232 equipment but need the flexibility of network-based access, centralised management and distributed host control. Typical use cases include industrial automation systems, legacy machine connectivity, building management, data collection, access control, test equipment and remote serial device management.
This model provides eight RS-232 serial ports using DB9 male connectors, making it suitable for straightforward integration with many existing serial devices. It also includes two 10/100/1000M RJ45 Ethernet ports, giving users Gigabit network connectivity with auto-sensing operation. Built-in 1.5 kV Ethernet magnetic isolation protection helps improve reliability in electrically noisy environments, while the metal housing supports long-term use in commercial and industrial installations.
The NPort 5610-8-DT-G2 supports a wide range of serial networking modes, including Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP, RFC2217 and Pair Connection. Secure operation modes are also supported, allowing serial data to be protected when communication security is a priority. Security features include Secure Boot, local database authentication with role-based access control, HTTPS support, SNMPv3 and strong encryption options.
For system integrators and maintenance teams, one-click log collection and application analysis can help reduce troubleshooting time during commissioning and support. The built-in watchdog timer, buzzer and real-time clock also contribute to reliability and maintainability. With 12 to 48 VDC input, reverse polarity protection, desktop installation, wall mounting and optional DIN-rail mounting, the NPort 5610-8-DT-G2 is a practical RS-232 networking solution for standard temperature environments from -10°C to 60°C.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
