The NPort 5650I-8-DT-G2-T is a wide-temperature isolated serial device server designed for demanding applications that require RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 connectivity over Ethernet. It combines eight serial ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet and 2 kV serial interface isolation in a compact metal desktop unit. This makes it particularly well suited to installations where reliable serial communication must be maintained in electrically noisy or temperature-challenging environments.

This model provides eight DB9 male serial ports and two 10/100/1000M RJ45 Ethernet ports. The serial ports support RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 standards, allowing a wide variety of field devices to be connected through one networked platform. The 2 kV serial isolation helps protect against electrical disturbances and potential ground loop issues, while the Ethernet ports include built-in 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protection for further communication resilience.

The NPort 5650I-8-DT-G2-T supports baud rates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps, including non-standard baud rates, and offers flexible serial settings for data bits, stop bits, parity and flow control. RS-485 features include automatic data direction control, 120 ohm termination and pull high/low resistor options. These capabilities make the device suitable for both point-to-point and multidrop serial networks.

For network integration, the unit supports Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP, RFC2217 and Pair Connection modes. Secure operation modes are available for encrypted serial communication, supported by security functions such as Secure Boot, HTTPS, SNMPv3, role-based authentication, strong encryption and certificate signing support. One-click log collection and application analysis help reduce troubleshooting time, while the watchdog timer, buzzer and real-time clock improve serviceability. With 12 to 48 VDC input, reverse polarity protection and -40°C to 75°C operating temperature support, this model is ideal for isolated serial networking in harsh locations.
