The NPort 5650-16-DT-J-G2 is a 16-port serial device server for applications that need high-density RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 connectivity over Ethernet. It is designed to help users network multiple serial devices through a compact desktop platform, making it suitable for automation systems, machine connectivity, control rooms, data acquisition networks and infrastructure projects with a large number of serial endpoints.
This model provides sixteen serial ports using 8-pin RJ45 connectors and supports RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 standards. That flexibility makes it useful for mixed serial environments, where different devices may use different electrical interfaces. It also includes two 10/100/1000M RJ45 Ethernet ports with auto-sensing support and built-in 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protection, providing dependable network connectivity for industrial and commercial installations.
Serial communication support includes baud rates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps, non-standard baud rate support, configurable data bits, stop bits and parity, plus flow control options including RTS/CTS, DTR/DSR and XON/XOFF. For RS-485 networks, the device supports automatic data direction control, 120 ohm termination and pull high/low resistor settings. These features allow the NPort 5650-16-DT-J-G2 to support a broad range of serial devices and network topologies.
The device supports standard operation modes such as Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP, RFC2217 and Pair Connection, as well as secure modes for encrypted serial communication. Security features include Secure Boot, HTTPS, SNMPv3, role-based authentication and strong encryption options. One-click log collection and application analysis help engineers troubleshoot issues during deployment and maintenance, while the built-in watchdog timer, buzzer and real-time clock support operational reliability. With metal housing, 12 to 48 VDC input, reverse polarity protection and -10°C to 60°C operation, this model delivers flexible 16-port serial networking for standard environments.

Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
