The NPort 5650-8-DT-G2 is an 8-port serial device server designed for installations that require flexible RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 connectivity over Ethernet. It is ideal for users who need to connect different types of serial equipment to an IP network from a single compact platform. By supporting multiple serial standards, the device can be used across a wide range of automation, control, monitoring and data acquisition applications.

This model includes eight DB9 male serial ports and two 10/100/1000M RJ45 Ethernet ports. The Ethernet interfaces support auto-sensing operation and include 1.5 kV built-in magnetic isolation protection. Serial communication is highly flexible, with support for baud rates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps, non-standard baud rates, multiple data bit and stop bit options, parity settings, RTS/CTS, DTR/DSR and XON/XOFF flow control. For RS-485 applications, automatic data direction control, termination and pull high/low resistor options help simplify deployment.

The NPort 5650-8-DT-G2 supports standard operation modes including Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP, RFC2217 and Pair Connection. Secure operation modes are also available for Real COM, TCP Server, TCP Client and Pair Connection, helping protect serial data when devices are accessed across networked environments. Security features include Secure Boot, HTTPS, SNMPv3, role-based authentication, encryption support and certificate signing support.

Maintenance features are also included to help simplify troubleshooting. One-click log collection and application analysis assist engineers during installation and support, while the built-in watchdog timer, real-time clock and buzzer contribute to operational reliability. With metal housing, 12 to 48 VDC input, reverse polarity protection, desktop installation, wall mounting and optional DIN-rail mounting, the NPort 5650-8-DT-G2 is a versatile solution for standard temperature serial-to-Ethernet applications from -10°C to 60°C.
