The NPort 5650-8-DTS-J-G2-T is a wide-temperature slim 8-port serial device server for RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 devices. It is designed for applications that need flexible serial-to-Ethernet connectivity in a compact enclosure, while also requiring reliable operation across harsher temperature conditions. With support for -40°C to 75°C operation, the device is suitable for industrial, transport, utility, infrastructure and remote monitoring environments.

This model provides eight serial ports using 10-pin RJ50 connectors and supports RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 communication. It also includes two 10/100/1000M RJ45 Ethernet ports with auto-sensing operation and built-in 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protection. The slim DTS housing measures 210 x 95 x 25 mm without ears, making it a useful choice for installations where traditional mounting rails are not available or where low-profile hardware is preferred.

Serial communication is highly configurable, with baud rates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps, support for non-standard baud rates, multiple data bit, stop bit and parity settings, and flow control options including RTS/CTS, DTR/DSR and XON/XOFF. RS-485 support includes automatic data direction control, 120 ohm termination and pull high/low resistor configuration, allowing the device to support a range of serial network designs.

The NPort 5650-8-DTS-J-G2-T supports Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP, RFC2217 and Pair Connection modes, plus secure operation modes for encrypted serial communication. Security features include Secure Boot, HTTPS, SNMPv3, role-based access control, encryption support and certificate signing options. One-click log collection and application analysis help reduce troubleshooting time, while the watchdog timer, buzzer and real-time clock support reliability. With 12 to 48 VDC input, reverse polarity protection and metal construction, this model delivers compact, secure and wide-temperature serial networking.
