The NPort 5600-DT-G2 Series is a range of compact desktop serial device servers designed to connect multiple RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 serial devices to an Ethernet network. Built for applications where existing serial equipment needs to be networked without complex configuration, the series allows users to centralise device management while still distributing management hosts across the network. With 8-port and 16-port models available, the range is well suited to industrial automation, building systems, remote equipment management, transport infrastructure, utilities and other applications where dependable serial-to-Ethernet connectivity is required.
Each model includes two 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet ports with auto MDI/MDI-X support and 1.5 kV built-in magnetic isolation protection. The range supports a wide selection of serial operating modes, including Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP, RFC2217 and Pair Connection, as well as secure operation modes for encrypted communication. This makes the NPort 5600-DT-G2 Series suitable for both traditional serial networking and more security-conscious deployments where serial data must be protected across private or public networks.
Security and maintenance are key strengths of the platform. Secure Boot helps ensure that only authorised firmware runs on the device, while support for HTTPS, SNMPv3, role-based access control, encryption and certificate signing provides a stronger foundation for secure industrial networking. For troubleshooting, one-click log collection and application analysis help system integrators and maintenance teams identify communication issues more quickly.
The range supports standard models from -10°C to 60°C and wide-temperature models from -40°C to 75°C. With metal housing, desktop installation, wall mounting and optional DIN-rail mounting, the NPort 5600-DT-G2 Series provides a flexible and robust way to bring legacy serial devices onto modern Ethernet networks.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.

Wireless Solution Saves Time and Reduces Overheads for OT Machinery Monitoring Project
Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
