The MOXA NPort 6650-32-G2-T is a 32-port wide-temperature RS-232/422/485 secure terminal server for high-density industrial serial networking in harsh environments. It is one of the most capable models in the standard non-isolated 6650 range because it combines high serial port density, support for RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485, and a rugged -40 to 75°C operating range. This makes it highly suitable for large roadside or rail deployments, power and utility sites, outdoor control centres, distributed industrial networks, and harsh central equipment cabinets where many serial devices must be aggregated securely into Ethernet. Where the standard-temperature 6650-32-G2 is aimed more at indoor industrial spaces, the -T version is built for much tougher field conditions.
Its strongest commercial angle is as a high-density wide-temperature secure terminal server for harsh-environment industrial serial consolidation. Compared with the smaller 8-port and 16-port wide-temperature variants, it gives users the ability to centralise many more serial endpoints in one chassis, reducing hardware sprawl in large installations. Compared with the 6610-32-G2 family, it adds the serial versatility needed for RS-485 multidrop networks and mixed legacy device estates. It also includes the family’s cyber-security strengths, such as Secure Boot, TLS 1.2/1.3, SSHv2, SNMPv3, certificate support, and IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 certification, making it more suitable than basic device servers for security-conscious infrastructure projects. Combined with dual Gigabit Ethernet, application analysis, and one-click log collection, the NPort 6650-32-G2-T is a strong fit for organisations that need rugged, large-scale, and secure serial-to-Ethernet integration from a single rackmount appliance.

Rolling-stock data logger for Siemens Rail
Spurious error messages, especially those from rolling-stock subsystems, can be difficult and time consuming to diagnose. Siemens Rail, in Manchester, wished to install a data logging system onto their rolling stock to transmit data in real-time back to their depot for efficient data analysis by their team.
