The MOXA NPort 6650-8-2AC-G2-T is a wide-temperature 8-port secure terminal server for projects that need flexible serial support in harsh environments together with the convenience of the 2AC package variant. Supporting RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485, this model is well suited to remote control cabinets, trackside systems, roadside traffic infrastructure, outdoor automation panels, and utility sites where device counts are modest but environmental resilience is critical. The -40 to 75°C operating range makes it a better choice than the standard 6650-8-2AC-G2 in exposed or less controlled locations, while the inclusion of 2 power cables helps align it with rack or deployment standards that require the 2AC package format.
Compared with the 6650-8-G2-T, the main difference is the 2AC package configuration, not the core serial or network performance. Compared with the 6650-16-2AC-G2-T and 6650-32-2AC-G2-T, it is the better fit for smaller sites, local cabinets, or compact rugged installations. Its support for RS-485 ADDC, software-adjustable termination, and pull high/low resistor settings also makes it especially useful where RS-485 field devices must be integrated reliably over Ethernet. On the security side, it shares the full NPort G2 toolset, including Secure Boot, HTTPS, SSHv2, SNMPv3, RADIUS, TACACS+, TRNG, and IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 certification, as well as one-click log collection and application analysis for easier fault finding. For customers looking for a compact, harsh-environment, mixed-serial terminal server with the 2AC package format, this is a very practical option.

Wireless Solution Saves Time and Reduces Overheads for OT Machinery Monitoring Project
Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
