The MOXA NPort 6650I-16-G2 is a 16-port isolated secure terminal server for industrial networks that require both flexible serial support and improved protection against electrical interference. Supporting RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 with 2 kV isolation, this model is especially well suited to industrial machinery, substations, energy sites, process plants, utilities, water treatment systems, and automation panels where signal integrity and system resilience are important. The isolation layer makes this model more appropriate than non-isolated alternatives in installations where ground loops, transient disturbances, or electrically noisy field equipment could otherwise affect communication reliability. With a -10 to 60°C operating range and 1 included power cable, it is aimed at standard-temperature industrial environments rather than extreme outdoor sites.
What sets the NPort 6650I-16-G2 apart is its balance of port density, serial flexibility, and electrical robustness. Compared with the 6650I-8-G2, it supports twice the serial endpoint count. Compared with the 6650I-16-2AC-G2, it keeps the standard single-cable package. Compared with the non-isolated 6650-16-G2, it is the better fit where electrical conditions are less forgiving. It also retains the security and maintenance advantages of the NPort G2 platform, including Secure Boot, HTTPS/TLS 1.2/1.3, SSHv2, SNMPv3, RADIUS, TACACS+, one-click log collection, and application analysis. For users modernising serial connectivity in electrically sensitive industrial environments, the NPort 6650I-16-G2 offers a strong mix of protection, manageability, and secure remote access.
