The Moxa PT-7528-20MSC-4TX-4GSFP-HV is a high-voltage input managed Ethernet switch designed for IEC 61850-3 compliant substations and industrial automation systems. It provides 4 Fast Ethernet copper ports, 20 multi-mode SC fibre ports, and 4 Gigabit SFP uplinks, making it a fibre-dense solution optimised for backbone networking.
Operating on 110/220 VDC/VAC, this model is ideal for integration into substation power environments. It delivers uncompromising reliability with Noise Guard zero packet loss technology and a built-in MMS server for IEC 61850-90-4 SCADA interoperability.
Resilient networking is enabled through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy (<20 ms recovery), along with STP, RSTP, and MSTP. Fibre Check diagnostics proactively monitor optical link status, helping operators detect and resolve issues before they escalate. VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, and port trunking optimise performance across critical traffic flows.
Security is a priority, with TACACS+, RADIUS, HTTPS, SSH, and IEEE 802.1X authentication ensuring secure access. SNMPv3, RMON, and Syslog provide administrators with advanced monitoring and centralised management.
Rated for -40 to 85°C, the PT-7528-20MSC-4TX-4GSFP-HV is a rugged solution for substations, railway signalling, and utility automation requiring high-voltage power input and reliable fibre networking.

Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
