The Moxa PT-7528-12MST-12TX-4GSFP-WV is a high-performance IEC 61850-3 Layer 2 managed switch designed for substation and power automation applications. Combining 12 Fast Ethernet copper ports, 12 fibre ST ports, and 4 Gigabit SFP uplinks, it supports versatile network topologies for mission-critical communications. Operating on 24/48 VDC power, it is optimised for utility environments that require compact yet robust equipment.
This model incorporates a built-in MMS server compliant with IEC 61850-90-4, facilitating SCADA interoperability and simplifying power grid monitoring and control. Moxa’s Noise Guard™ technology ensures immunity to electromagnetic interference and zero packet loss performance in substations and other electrically noisy locations. With redundancy technologies such as Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (<20 ms recovery), RSTP, and MSTP, the PT-7528 guarantees reliable, always-on communication.
Advanced cybersecurity features include IEEE 802.1X, SNMPv3, TACACS+, RADIUS, HTTPS, and SSH, enabling secure and centralised management. QoS, VLANs, and IGMP snooping enhance determinism and traffic prioritisation, making it suitable for time-critical GOOSE and SMV packet delivery. Network management is simplified with RMON, Syslog, port mirroring, and automatic alarm outputs for proactive troubleshooting.
Designed for long-term reliability, the PT-7528-12MST-12TX-4GSFP-WV operates over -40 to 85°C and meets stringent IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards. Its fanless aluminium IP40 chassis withstands harsh vibration and shock conditions typical in substations. In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.

Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
